1-There are more than three regions in sudan:
i-510 ethnic tribes each has its own languages, traditions etc.
ii-between them they a huge land about one million sq miles.
iii-in the old times they were divided to 18 kingdoms, each has its own king or tribe chief. now there are only administration boundaries, some chooses to to bond together from various tribes with similar skin color or closer traditions.
iv- the war causes there mostly due the movement of the nomadics tribes due to short resources from one era to another.

    Sudan Watch:

Thank you for stopping by and for your feedback.

The key word in this exercise is “major” regions. This is a geography lesson that was intended to help Josiah (age 6) learn more about the geography of Sudan.

We started with showing him where Africa is in the world. Then where Sudan is in Africa. Then we focused on locating the Nile River and capital city of Karthoum. This was the fourth lesson, intended to help him understand the major regions.

We certainly understand that Sudan has a very rich and complex history and culture. Much of which changes frequently and can’t easily be mapped. As we go, we’ll likely be unpacking that some more as we talk about tribes, the wars, etc.

But our intent with this lesson was to create a simple geography lesson to help him, and other kids his age, become more familiar with the landscape of Sudan in a very simple way.
